Terms and conditions of use

This English version is a courtesy translation. The only binding text is the Spanish version of these terms, published at casasiam.cl/terminos-y-condiciones/; if the two versions differ, the Spanish text prevails. This translation is not a substitute for legal advice.
First. What this site is
casasiam.cl is the informational website of Casa Siam, a home-based breeder of Siamese cats with its business address at Los Militares 5620, Las Condes, Santiago, Chile.
The site exists to show who we are, which litters there are, how we work and how a conversation with us begins. Everything published here is for information purposes only.
Second. Acceptance
Browsing casasiam.cl or writing to us through its links means accepting these terms in the version published at that time. Anyone who does not agree with them may close the site; that is its only effect.
Third. The site does not conclude contracts
No page of casasiam.cl constitutes an offer within the meaning of Article 12 A of Law 19.496 (Chile’s Consumer Protection Law). The photographs, litter descriptions, colors and handover dates describe an actual situation at the time of publication, and that situation changes: a kitten may be reserved the same day, a litter may be delayed, and a color may be confirmed differently from how it looked in the first weeks.
The reservation of a kitten is formalized through a separate instrument—the Reservation and Handover Protocol (Protocolo de Reserva y Entrega), which is sent signed to each family—and not through this site. That document sets out the prices, time frames, handover conditions, health warranty and any applicable right of withdrawal. In the event of any difference between what the site says and what the signed Protocol says, the Protocol prevails.
To state it plainly: the site does not process payments. There is no payment gateway and no shopping cart, and no one should transfer money based on an instruction that appears here. Bank transfer details are always provided through a direct, written channel with Casa Siam.
Fourth. Permitted use
The site is open to anyone who visits it to find information or to contact us, whether directly or through a browser, a screen reader, an assistant or any other tool acting at a person’s request. It is also open to search engines and to services that index pages in order to guide people and link back to the source, provided they respect the instructions in the site’s robots.txt file.
The following fall outside that purpose: the bulk or systematic extraction of its content in order to copy it, reproduce it on another site or network, build datasets or train artificial-intelligence models, unless Casa Siam gives written permission; that reservation is also expressed, for programs, in the site’s robots.txt file. Impersonating Casa Siam, interfering with the operation of the site and using its contact links to send advertising, chain messages or bulk messages also fall outside that purpose. The use of the photographs, videos and texts is further governed by the Seventh clause.
Fifth. Questions and visits
Questions and the arrangement of in-person visits are handled on WhatsApp. We use the information you give us there to reply and to confirm an appointment. Whoever provides it undertakes that it is accurate and their own, or that they have the authorization of the person it belongs to.
Writing to us or requesting an appointment does not, by itself, confirm anything. Confirmation always comes in writing from Casa Siam, with the conditions of the visit (duration, minimum notice, rescheduling), which are the ones that apply.
Sixth. Linked third-party services
Some features of the site rely on services we do not manage: direct conversation takes place on WhatsApp, the map and reviews are on Google, and hosting is provided by an external provider. By following those links, visitors enter platforms with their own terms and privacy policies, which are worth reviewing. Casa Siam is responsible for what it publishes, not for the operation of those platforms.
Seventh. Intellectual property
The texts, photographs, videos, monogram, logo and the name Casa Siam belong to Casa Siam or are used with the authorization of whoever produced them. None of them may be reproduced, adapted or published in any other medium without written permission.
Normal use of the web is excepted: sharing the link to a page, quoting a short excerpt with its source, or saving a copy for personal reference. Anyone who wants to use one of our photographs or texts for an article, academic work or publication need only write to us: the answer is usually yes.
The Casa Siam™ name and monogram are used as our trademark. It is expressly prohibited to use our photographs, videos, texts, name or logo to present, promote or sell animals from any other source, to impersonate Casa Siam, or for any other venture unrelated to Casa Siam. Such use infringes Law 17.336 on Intellectual Property and Law 19.039 on Industrial Property, and gives rise to the appropriate legal action, including reports to the platforms where it is published.
Eighth. Family testimonials
The reviews on the site come from families who live with a cat from Casa Siam and are published with their authorization, which we keep in writing. The photographs that accompany them are published under the same authorization. We only correct spelling: the voice belongs to each family. On the English version of the site, testimonials appear in an English translation of the original Spanish. Each testimonial is signed with the cat’s name, not the family’s.
Any family may ask for their testimonial or photograph to be removed, without giving a reason, on WhatsApp at +56 9 3679 0252 or by writing to belen@casasiam.cl. We remove it from the site within the following five business days.
Ninth. Availability and liability
We do what is reasonable to keep the site online and its information up to date, and even so there will be times of maintenance, hosting provider failures or pages that remain out of date for a few days. Casa Siam is not liable for service interruptions or for damages arising from decisions anyone makes based solely on what is published here, without having talked to Casa Siam.
This clause in no way limits the obligations that Law 19.496 imposes on Casa Siam toward the families who contract with it, nor the rights that law grants them.
Tenth. Personal data
The processing of the data collected on this site is explained in the Privacy and cookie policy, available at casasiam.cl/politica-de-privacidad/ (English courtesy translation at casasiam.cl/en/privacy-policy/), which forms part of these terms.
Eleventh. Changes
These terms may be amended when the site or the law changes. The version in force is always the Spanish version published at casasiam.cl/terminos-y-condiciones/, with its number and date displayed; this translation is updated to match it. Changes apply from publication and do not affect reservations already formalized, which are governed by the Protocol signed at the time.
Twelfth. Governing law
These terms are governed by Chilean law. Disputes are submitted to the ordinary courts of justice with jurisdiction in Santiago, without prejudice to every consumer’s right to turn to the National Consumer Service (Sernac) and to the local police courts (juzgados de policía local), as provided by Law 19.496.
